ATHARVA LAUNCHES MANAGEMENT DEVELOPMENT PROGRAMMES


ATHARVA EDUCATIONAL COMPLEX

Atharva Institute of Management Studies shall be conducting management development programmes at its campus during the year 2007/08 on the following topics.
These shall be conducted over two/three days over the weekend.
The instructors will come from the institute and shall be supplemented by the well-known industry experts.

For Whom :

These are designed to address the needs of the people working in the first line management or supervisory positions. These are meant to make the participants more effective in the current positions and augment their capacities for taking over higher responsibilities.
Graduation is desirable but can be waived for exceptional candidates. Familiarity with English would be necessary.

Location:

The programmes shall be held in the luxuriously appointed Management Development Centre at the Atharva Campus. Excellent arrangements for lunch and snacks shall be made.

We would be extremely happy to tailor the programmes to suit the needs of an organization.

A minimum of 8 candidates would be desirable for this purpose.


Fees

Fees Rs. 6000 will be the charged for each candidate. In case of more than three nominations from one institute, these shall be reduced to Rs. 5000 per candidate.
These charges shall cover food, study material etc.

Context

Small and medium sized enterprises form the most vibrant and dynamic component of any economy. This is even truer in the Indian context. In born enterprising spirit of available in the society was helped by the governmental support in the past. This has allowed the emergence of a very large number of enterprises in this segment.
With the liberalizing environment the policy support has been gradually declining. To that one can add the onslaught of international business on the local domain. This has put the survival and growth of participants in this sector under some strain.
The problem gets complex because of the in ability of such organizations to attract and retain suitable professionals.
It is, therefore essential for these organisations to hone the skills of the managers.

Faculty

The programme has been conceived and designed by Professor Vinod Puri.
He is a graduate from IIT Bombay.
He has work experience of more than 37 years with Greaves cotton Ltd. and Batliboi Ltd at very senior levels. He retired as CEO.
Prof. Puri has been interested in academics and has been a visiting faculty at NMIMS and SJM School of Management of IIT Bombay for more than a decade.
He has been associated with Atharva for last four years.
During his work with the industry, he has been involved with very large number of small and medium sized organizations. This makes him eminently suitable for such a programme.
Eminent academicians and industry practitioners shall support Prof. Puri.
